• Parts diagrams for the 2027 Mercedes S-Class have appeared online.
  • They hint at a larger grille and a subtly redesigned front bumper.
  • Spy shots reveal a new interior featuring the MBUX Hyperscreen.

Spy photographers have caught the facelifted Mercedes S-Class, likely to debut as the 2027 model next year, on multiple occasions, but now several alleged production parts diagrams have surfaced online.

They suggest the flagship sedan will have a supersized grille that loosely recalls the one used on the Vision Iconic concept.

Besides the taller grille, we can get a glimpse of a new front bumper that features an evolutionary design. It will be accompanied by starry new headlights as Mercedes has thrown subtlety out the window.

Additional details are hard to decipher, but the images give us a glimpse at several possible wheel designs. We can also see the center consoles as well as a door panel. However, these images don’t really reveal much.

That being said, previous pictures have revealed a new dashboard with an MBUX Hyperscreen. It will be joined by a revamped center console that is far more traditional than what’s found on the current model. The steering wheel has also been given a light refresh thanks to new switchgear.

Mercedes has been tight-lipped about the upcoming sedan, but the current model offers an assortment of powertrains including a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six with 442 hp (330 kW / 448 PS) and 413 lb-ft (559 Nm) of torque.

Customers can also get a plug-in hybrid variant, which uses the aforementioned engine, an electric motor, and a 28.6 kWh battery pack. This gives the model a combined output of 503 hp (375 kW / 510 PS) as well as an electric-only range of 47 miles (76 km).

If there’s no replacement for displacement, the company offers a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 pumping out 496 hp (370 kW / 503 PS) and 516 lb-ft (699 Nm) of torque. There’s also a plug-in hybrid S 63 E Performance with 791 hp (590 kW / 802 PS).

These powertrains will likely carryover, although there could be a handful of updates for improved performance and efficiency.
